Theacrine (as TeaCrine)
Theacrine is a naturally occurring chemical that is like caffeine. It is found in several different types of tea and coffees, as well as in the seeds of the Herrania and Theocrama plant species. Theacrine is taken to combat fatigue, improve mental performance as well as aid in athletic performance when added to pre-workout supplements. Like caffeine, theacrine stimulates the central nervous system, but unlike caffeine, theacrine does not seem to affect blood pressure. Research suggests that theacrine might also lessen liver damage caused by stress and may alsoreduce pain and swelling.
CognatiQ
CognatiQ is a patented coffee fruit extract (coffea Arabica) that has been clinically shown to boost BDNF, or brain-derived neurotrophic factor. BDNF plays a vital role in the development, maintenance, connection, and protection of brain neurons. Low BDNF has been associated with a variety of brain-related health concerns. Through research, CognatiQ has also been shown to increase brain connectivity and improve daily cognitive performance. In studies, CognatiQ demonstrated neurophysiological changes within participants that included increasing functional connectivity in the regions of the brain involved in attention, focus and working memory, while other coffee, caffeine, and polyphenol compounds showed no changes. The results of this study suggest that the unique polyphenol profile found within the coffee fruit is responsible for naturally increasing BDNF.
